My son 6 year old has chest pain. What could be the cause?

Chest pain in children and adolescents is a very common complaint mentioned to parents. Fortunately, it is very rare that chest pain is caused by a significant problem. The most common source of chest pain in children is what is called musculo-skeletal in origin. Is it associated with any other complain like cough, breathing problem, nose stuff pain in joints etc? Muscular pain usually subsides within few days. Talk with your child and have proper history, consult a doctor if symptom persist for more than a week.
