Tachypnea is defined as increased breathing rate. According to WHO a child up to 2 months of age is said to have tachypnea if the breathing rate is 60 breaths per minute. The cause of tachypnea can be fever or pain to something serious like respiratory or cardiac disorder. It is necessary that you consult your child's pediatrician who after a thorough examination can tell you the exact cause and treatment.
