My daughter is suffering from headache which at times very severe, when shall I find it emergency and rush to doctor? Is there any home treatment to deal with it?

Headache in children can be due to several factors. Such as day to day cold and flu, viral infection of the ear and sinus, migraine, etc. Headache would be an emergency if it is severe and starts especially after a trauma to the head, if it is associated with discharge of blood from nose or ear, if there is alternation in the consciousness along with the headache, if there is change in vision or problem with speech along with headache, etc. Moreover if the headache is recurrent it is necessary to get your daughter examined once by a physician to find out the cause. Treatment will depend upon the cause. Making a headache diary will help your daughter to find out the triggering factor.
