What should I do if a baby is choking?

Call an ambulance at once. Till the time help arrives following can be done: Asses the situation. Note whether he is able to make any sound or not, this will help you to asses the severity. If you find that the baby is coughing, allow him/her to do so. This will help to dislodge the object due to which baby is choking. You can also give back blows or chest thrust to dislodge the object.
