ESR is raised whenever there is an inflammation in the body. It is one of the common findings in a patient suffering from arthritis. Your problem is related to bones. There are two causes that can cause pain in knee. They are osteoarthritis i.e degeneration of bones due to ageing and rheumatoid arthritis i.e autoimmune disease of bone. You should consult an orthopedic doctor to know the cause and get treated accordingly.
