hello doctor, i want to share my problem with you, in last week of may i had unprotected sex with a prostitute and now i am tense if i have hiv or not, yesterday the prostitute had a blood test and she is HIV NEGATIVE AND VDRL IS NON REACTIVE . so can u please tell me that can you have aids from someone who is negative

HIV can have a window period of upto 3 months. Hence, her test result could be false negative. My advice for you would be to get tested for HIV 6 weeks after your sexual encounter and once again 3 months after your sexual encounter. Only then can you be sure of being free from HIV infection. It is much wiser to use a condom for those few minutes rather than worrying for months later.
