Hair loss during breastfeeding phase is very normal. It happens due to certain hormonal changes in your body. The amount can vary from women to women. The another reason why you might notice it markedly is, when you are pregnant, your body secrets pregnancy hormones that has enhancing effect on your hair growth and hair follicles. This make your hair thicker, fuller and healthier. But when you delivered your baby, these hormonal levels get changed, affecting your hair thickness and hair growth. Because of which you may notice increased hair fall than previously you were used to. However, this is a reversible change and you will get back to normal withing 6-12 moths after childbirth. Living stress free, enjoying motherhood and concentrating on well balanced diet will be enough to deal with hair loss while breastfeeding.
