Hello, i am a 33 yr old female. Since last few years , my face skin had started becoming dry and started developing some red spots. This doesn't seem to be something very major like no itching or pain but certainly not desirable as i had a very good skin texture some 6-7 yrs back. Since i don't use any cosmetics, i though they may go eventually by daily applying moisturizer and keeping a diet more of fruits & vegetables. I have long working hours and when even after an year of having a bowl of sprouts everyday & moisturizing my face, things didn't improve, i consulted a skin doctor. He said that the skin seems to be damaged by uv rays and prescribed applying bihaku white lotion mixed with 3-4 drops of elocon drops and thereafter la shield (spf 30) cream (after 10 minutes ) in the morning for 15 days. He also prescribed sodox ( a multivitamin drug by ranbaxy) for 15 days. This treatment worked and my skin started becoming softer in just 7-10 days. However, now its a month since i saw the doctor, and 15 days since the elocon lotion and sodox dosage are over, and again my skin has started becoming dry and spotty, they seem to be red rashes. My doctor's fee burnt a hole in my pocket the last time & this once, i will not be able to spare that amount. Please advice if i should start using elocon again or what is the best way to get my skin back and a regime which can follow without disturbing my work schedule.

First we would like to advise you is to not to use elocon drops further without your doctor's advise. It contains steroid and it get absorbed by skin easily. hence should only be used under supervision. You might be having allergy towards sun heat or ultra violet rays as your doctor told you. We are suggesting you some simple measures, by which you may be able to keep a good skin texture, and which will be economical too: 1. Always cover your skin while going out in sun. Avoid exposure to environmental pollution by properly covering your skin. 2. Rather than using any chemical based moisturizer or any market products for skin, go for home made moisturizer like milk or cream. 3. If you want to use soap, use the one with plenty of moisturizer like glycerin, Shea butter, coca butter, aloe vera etc. 4. Use fresh aloe vera pulp or juice, directly on your skin, before having a bath. Aloe vera is best for any kind of skin complaints. 5. Continue with the diet you have already started with. Apart from that, drink plenty of water. Take sufficient rest. Aim for 7-9 hrs of sleep daily.
