How can I tell what type of incontinence I have?
  • By Team TDO

The type of incontinence can be diagnosed by the symptoms you have and the examination done by the physician. For example: if you leak urine when you cough, sneeze or laugh it is suggestive of stress incontinence. Whereas if you leak urine before you can make it to the toilet than it is suggestive of urge incontinence. The examination includes - urine analysis, blood test, post voidal residual urine measurement, sonography, cystogram and cystoscopy etc.
